Occasionally identified as the Mountain of the Moon, the Rwenzori Reach heights up to 5,109 meters. They host some of the last glaciers in Central Africa. In 2017, I had the opportunity to follow the glaciologist, Denis Samyn, on an expedition to study the retreat of these ice. We were there to take ice cores, photo timelapse, melting measurements, ice density … All to understand the history but especially the future of these glaciers.
